FLEOA Statement on the Departure of Attorney General Pam Bondi

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, April 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- United States Attorney General Pam Bondi was dismissed by President Donald Trump yesterday, April 2, 2026.

Attorney General Bondi, who was appointed in early 2025, departs the Department of Justice after more than a year of leadership marked by an aggressive focus on public safety, law enforcement support, and national security priorities.

During her time as the nation’s top law enforcement officer, Bondi prioritized restoring confidence in law enforcement institutions and advancing policies aimed at reducing violent crime and strengthening federal partnerships with state and local agencies. Her leadership was widely viewed within the law enforcement community as placing renewed emphasis on officer morale, public safety, and proactive policing strategies.

Mathew Silverman, National President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, had this to say:

“Over the past year, Attorney General Pam Bondi has provided the kind of decisive, unwavering leadership this country demands from its top law enforcement officer. Her commitment to the men and women of law enforcement has driven a noticeable rise in morale nationwide, while her leadership has helped deliver real, measurable reductions in crime. She has been a fierce and unapologetic advocate for restoring law and order, and the impact of her work will continue to be felt for years to come. There is no question that we will continue to see her influence moving forward. Until then, I want to personally thank her for her service and for everything she has done to support those who protect our communities.”

During her tenure, Attorney General Bondi was able to boast the lowest national murder rate since 1900. She led task forces in both Washington, D.C., and Memphis, Tennessee, which saw historic violent crime reductions in both cities.

She was instrumental in leading the fight against the drug cartels putting Americans at risk, seizing over 370 million doses of fentanyl and taking over 90 key cartel figures into US custody while defending the deportations that kept these dangerous individuals out of our country.

Likewise, she played a leading role in numerous special operations designed to arrest or neutralize enemies of the United States, including the operations that saw the arrests of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, Benghazi bomber Zubayar Al-Bakoush, Abbey Gate bombing co-conspirator Mohammad Sharifullah, and seven out of ten of the FBI’s top ten most wanted, among others. Overall, Pam Bondi’s tenure showed a level of support for law enforcement officers only surpassed by her duty to defend the American people.

FLEOA recognizes Attorney General Bondi’s commitment to standing alongside federal, state, and local law enforcement officers during an unprecedented period for the United States when they find themselves villainized on all sides by the media and their own government. Her efforts to prioritize officer support, combat violent crime, and reinforce the rule of law have left a lasting impact on the profession at a critical time when reassurance and confidence in the rule of law are increasingly hard to come by.

The association remains committed to working with Department of Justice leadership to ensure that federal law enforcement officers continue to receive the support, resources, and advocacy necessary to carry out their mission of protecting the American people.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as interim Attorney General until Bondi’s official replacement is announced.
